I have very little experience with fitted diapers. The two we have are microfiber and though I love how they contain leaks, I'm not a fan of the stinkies they absorb so well too (or the fact that they are sized). I was really excited to discover Tail Feathers and to have the opportunity to review their One-Size Organic Bamboo Velour fitted diaper along with a new One-Size Snapless Hybrid Bamboo Fitted.
Materials: I am a big fan of bamboo, I just love how soft it is. I have some bamboo towels, but these diapers feel even softer! I imagine this will feel great on a baby's delicate skin. Bamboo also washes well and doesn't absorb stinkies the same way microfiber does.
Sizing: Both of these fitted diapers are designed as one-size. The one with snaps (above) is highly adjustable, the smallest setting is perfect for the average newborn. The largest setting would fit my 2.5 year old great. The snapless hybrid diaper (below) is just as adjustable, but needs to be secured with a Snappi, a pin, or a tight fitting cover.
Value: The fact that these are one size already saves you money as you wouldn't have to buy fitteds in several sizes. They both require a cover, so keep that cost in mind. You wouldn't need that many covers though considering how well a fitted contains everything. The Organic Bamboo Velour Fitted with snaps costs $25.95 each and the Snapless Bamboo Hybrid is $15.95. It isn't something to build an entire stash out of, though you could if your income allows, but it is great to have a few of these for night time or long trips. The Tail Feathers FUSION all-in-one diapers on the other hand are great for filling a diaper stash for $17.95 each, no covers needed.
About: Tailfeathers diapers are handmade by the very generous and talented Rachel Hanan. The quality of the diapers is very apparent once you see them, she is a professional! You can make a purchase here. She is also open to custom orders so don't hesitate to contact her.
