Thirsties Fab Fitted and Duo Wrap Review

I am living in diaper land 24/7 right now. That's life with a newborn. Sometimes it drives me nuts that I do not have more than two of the same brand diapers, they are all different. Bonus is that it makes me kind of an expert! I've lost count, but we have about 25 to 30 different brands. I've always loved Thirsties and I was excited to finally test them on a newborn. I received a Fab Fitted with snaps and a Duo Wrap with snaps to try on baby T.

Why do I love this combination? Because it is nearly bulletproof, yet very trim. It's my go to for putting under cute outfits because I know it will not ruin the outfit with leaks and we can avoid the 'cloth diaper butt' phenomenon. That was okay on a girl, but on my son - you know, a big bum would look a tad weird (I'm just being dramatic).

Don't let the slim look of the Fab Fitted deceive you. Our one month old pees A LOT. My first was a girl, so this is new to me. He just pees non-stop and his diapers are always so wet and full. While this fitted gets soaked, his bum remains dry to the touch and the Duo Wrap is really great at containing everything. Even if a tiny bit of a blowout escapes the fitted, which is rare, the cover takes care of it. I like it so much I'm thinking of buying a couple more Fab Fitteds to use with the same cover.

Another thing to love is the two sizes it comes in. Doesn't break the bank completely like sized diapers do, but the perfect sizing really does offer a perfect fit. In the photo (7 lbs 7 oz) of the diaper on my newborn it is actually very trim compared to other cloth diapers I put on him. Now he is weighing 10 lbs 8 oz and it fits really nice, I have it on the middle snap setting and it will probably fit him for another three months (he is getting very chubby). 

I'll be honest, I would be quite happy with a whole stash of these. I can't think of anything negative, except that they are not the cheapest. Still less expensive than many others. Not that I don't love all of our other sponsors!

Baby Kicks Cloth Diaper Review & Giveaway

Cloth diapering a newborn for the first time is quite a journey. We started on cloth when baby T was 3 days old after a few non-chlorinated disposables the first hectic days. We went home nine hours after birth, so I wasn't ready for doing laundry right away. Today he is 10 days old and I'm finally getting the hang of it. We really loved trying all the various brands of diapers we have, including the BabyKicks 3g Pocket Diaper. 

As you can see in the photo below, the diaper is a little large on a seven pound newborn, no surprise there. But it does fit great nevertheless, without any major gaps. Just give it another pound or two of baby fat and it will fit great. The side snaps, I have to admit, are not very convenient on a newborn, especially in the middle of the night. I do prefer snaps though for how long they last and I like the particular fit that side snaps provide for an infant and toddler.

I'm a big fan of the BabyKicks 3g gussets that allow for air flow. The cotton and bamboo liner is so incredibly soft, it is great against the baby's skin. I also like the front stuffing insert pocket, I don't have to touch the explosive newborn poop to get the insert out. I really appreciate the one-size design that will give us a ton of use with our BabyKicks 3g diaper.

Are you interested in quality American made diapers? How about high quality materials like hemp, organic cotton, and wool? Look no further than Babee Greens. They have a fabulous selection of products including one-size fitted diapers, doublers, wipes, onesies, nursing pads, detergent, wool covers, and wool wet bags.

Materials: The jersey shorties we received for review are 97% wool and 3% spandex. Soft, this, and trim these can be used as shorts or lanolized and used as a diaper cover. Breathable enough for summer and warm enough for winter.

Sizing: We received the small shorties, they're positively tiny! The little bit of stretch should make them fit for a little while but I don't expect them to fit past 3 months. Not a whole lot of wear with these. The small fits 12-17 lbs, medium 17-25 lbs, and large 25-35 lbs. For one-size products though Babee Greens makes some great hemp-cotton fitteds!

Value: These shorties are pricey for something that will only fit for a few months at $25.95 each. With wool products though I find that I only need one or two pairs because they do not get dirty the way other materials do! (honestly, you don't want to know how seldom I washed my toddlers wool longies). Looking for value, again, try the Babee Greens one-size fitteds with a cover of your choice.

NB Fluff: Dri-line Bamboo Baby AIO Diapers Review

We love bamboo products and especially diapers and we're excited to show you yet another option with this material. Dri-line makes the Bamboo Baby AIO diaper, we received two one-size diapers for review.

Materials: The diaper interior is bamboo Rayon fleece (80% bamboo, 20% polyester), it is super soft. It has a waterproof PUL outer. We reviewed the snap version, but it also comes with aplix closure tabs that are generously sized. Previously the velcro that they used had problems, it wouldn't stay closed on active babies. That has since been fixed and the new aplix closure is super strong.

Sizing: The Bamboo Baby AIO diaper is one size and fits babies from about 8 lbs to 34 lbs. Considering our newborn will probably be under seven pounds again, this may be too big at birth, but I'll probably start using it at one month or so. Above you can see it at the smallest setting, below it is shown with the snaps unsnapped. It is roomy and would fit my 26 pound 32 month old great.

Value: You can find this one-size diaper online for anywhere from about $17 to $23 each. That's a great price for a one-size bamboo AIO diaper, which can be hard to find. One size virtually from birth to potty training is a great value for a diaper made in Canada.

About: Dri-line is located in Canada and doesn't just make the Bamboo AIO, they also manufacture fitted diapers, covers, prefolds, receiving blankets, laundry bags, semi fitted diapers, and a myriad of other products.
