Kid Basix Review and Giveaway {Closed}

Do you want to know what happened to our first sippy cup from the baby registry? I was smart enough to leave it closed with water inside on many occasions. So mold started growing in the spout and I could not save it. It was a really nice stainless steel one too. So I needed a new one as soon as possible so that we can take water for our daughter with us when we leave the house. My criteria was that it had to be spill proof, made of stainless steel inside, and comfortable to hold for the baby. A cool design would not hurt either. I stumbled on Kid Basix and they were kind enough to let us try their products.

Safe Sippy2: Out of the three products that were sent to us, we got the most use out of this one so far, our baby loves it! I really like the design of the Safe Sippy2. We chose the gender neutral green/aqua. It can be used three ways: as a sippy cup, as a straw cup (for older children), and with a travel plug. It has a great ergonomic design and is easy for little hands to hold. You can remove the handles for an older child. I like the round spout with one big whole instead of a flat spout with little holes like many other sippy cups. The outer sleeve protects the sippy from dents and it looks really great as well adding a punch of color. I always remove all seal parts at night so we don't get mold this time. Take note though, if you want the sippy to be spill proof, you have to place the rubber seal in dry. If you put it in wet, it will leak. I've seen complaints about this in other reviews and wanted to put it to the test myself. I discovered that when all components are dry, you shouldn't have any leaking issues!

Safe Sporter: I ditched disposable plastic bottles a long time ago, but we only had one large stainless steel bottle as an alternative. Since I stay home for the most part, my husband takes it to work. I wanted to get one of my own for a while though to use when I am out and about with baby. I wanted one that is not too big and could fit in the diaper bag and the stroller cup holder. The Safe Sporter is so perfect, it is actually so me! It is petite and slim, it even has a waist ;) I chose the marigold (yellow) color, I like things bright. The 16 oz size does not hold a whole lot of water, but it is enough for me for taking walks with baby, for shopping, and play dates. It is actually a perfect big kid size, that is what it was designed for. There is also a cute 12 oz Safe Sporter for little hands. Would go great with a reusable lunch box! It has a convenient sports top, a greatwide mouth that fits ice cubes, and a great little cover that kids will not loose because it is on a hinge.

Safe Starter: My baby does not take the bottle, never did. I am hoping though to try this with the second baby or pass it along to someone who would need it. Gee, I would have to pick someone out of my three pregnant friends! Though we haven't actually tried the bottle, there are a few things about it I want to mention. Have you seen a stainless steel baby bottle before? I haven't, so I was pretty excited about this! I bought glass when we had a baby. We never really used it. This just looks so cool, it should make your days as a frazzled mom at least cheerier! I love the little cap that doubles as a measuring cup. Though I am not a fan of formula, I definitely see myself using this with some breast milk when mom needs a break and daddy can do a feeding.

Kid Basix is generously giving away one Safe Sippy2 (pictured in middle of image at top).

  6. I learned that the founder created The Safe Sippy™ cup because he knows how dangerous plastics are, and it drove him crazy that he was giving his two year old son water every morning in a cup made from toxic chemicals.
