Wink Nursing Tank Review and Giveaway

It has been two months since giving birth to baby T. Most women would be thrilled, but I am not very excited to be back at my pre-pregnancy weight so fast (please hold the tomatoes!), ever since my first pregnancy I've been struggling to keep up my weight. This will probably be good as I get older, but at the moment it is so hard to eat enough while breastfeeding! Between all the cooking, cleaning, diaper changes, and coping with toddler behavior - it's hard to find time to eat full meals. But I eat a lot, way more than I ever did before, I guess that's how it is breastfeeding a little man with my metabolism!

I'm back at my weight, but that doesn't mean my tummy looks like it did before the baby. That's where the Wink Nurse N Blast Tank Top works wonders. Just like the Ultimate Postpartum Bikini and the C-Section Bikini, it has a compression layer that makes it possible to fit into pre-pregnancy jeans and it helps with postpartum healing. Only in this case you also have it conveniently function as a nursing tank top. I love having the two functions in one, that's one less thing to have to put on. It is long and extends past the hips, giving you compression exactly where you need it. I have the black tank top and it goes well with everything. There are soft cups that for me, eliminate the need for a bra, it looks great without one.

The tank is a little bit tough to pull on, as you would expect from something with compression, but it isn't impossible. Also, I had some trouble with the nursing clasps because the front isn't attached to the straps once you open it, I had to fish for the straps in the back. But lucky for you, I was one of the first to test it, so moving on the tanks will be modified to be easier to close the nursing clasp - with the front attached to the strap somehow so you don't loose it behind you. The Nurse n Blast Tank Top is quite expensive at $74.99, but you are paying for a quality compression garment, this isn't just any old nursing tank. Overall I love the tank and the two purposes it serves, it's a great postpartum product to have to help you get back in shape.

PSG: Mercedes Hill Maternity Review

For our last review in the Pregnancy Shopping Guide lineup we bring you Mercedes Hill, an online boutique of maternity clothing that also has a new line of their own styles. We reviewed the linen pants that unfortunately are not for sale anymore since the company has new owners that are coming up with a new line of clothing.

I received the size extra small shown above, which obviously look a tad big on my 100 lb frame. But guess what, they shrink pretty well in a hot wash - so I just avoided alteration fees! I shrunk them after taking the photo. I have always loved linen, such a perfect fabric for being pregnant through the summer. It is very breathable and comfortable to wear. I really like the tummy panel, although I prefer an under the belly fit, I am surprised by how much I like this style too.

Mercedes Hill is also coming up with some great new styles of their own in addition to everything they sell from a variety of brands. Here is a quick sneak peek of cute halter top and dress in the new lineup, perfect for summer:

PSG: Seraphine Bamboo Pants Review

Looking for maternity pants comfy enough to live in? Look no further than the Seraphine Bamboo Trousers. I can sleep in these, go shopping them, go to the playground with my daughter, wear them to visit friends - and nobody would know that they feel like I'm wearing pajamas. Silky soft, lightweight, and made from sustainable fibers (bamboo, cotton, spandex blend). They cost about $40 U.S. dollars at the London based Seraphine online shop.

I received the size small for review, I wish they were even smaller - but understandably they are a little big on me because I'm only 100 pounds. I love how comfortably they sit right under the belly, the elastic waist is very gentle and soft stretching, doesn't rub or annoy me. Definitely something to be wearing all through pregnancy and post birth.

Seraphine has an amazing selection of maternity clothing. They even have a section of styles worn by celebrities and special occasion dresses. I would gladly slip into any of the ultra stylish clothing they offer. Take a look:

PSG: Stacia Eco Wear Review

I love discovering new companies that make Eco friendly clothing, they are getting to be more abundant every year. I recently stumbled upon Stacia, an EcoKnits collections that is made of bamboo, soybean, and tencel fibers. The clothing is very unique and beautifully made. I received the Landscape Shrug in Bluff for review, the two different colors are pictured above and below with me wearing it.

It is a perfect pregnancy accessory that you would be able to wear in any stage of life. Perfect as a lightweight summer evening cover up or an autumn/spring shrug. It pairs well with a lot of clothing and I just love the way it feels against my skin. It is silky soft and can be worn for a dressy occasion or worn casually at the beach. The only thing that I found missing was some way to keep the sleeves up so that they can be worn as 3/4 sleeves. They are actually the full length of the arm and they keep sliding down because the fabric stretches. I wish there was a bit of elastic at the cuff to keep them up because I really like the 3/4 sleeve look better.

The selection of knits at Stacia is very classy, there isn't anything I do not like. Prices are out of my price range, items start at about $48 (scarf) but most of them are above $100. The luxurious collection is tailored to discerning customers who are looking for Eco friendly clothing and have disposable income to spend on such luxuries. The company caters to the California beach lifestyle and it definitely looks like it:

PSG: Pettel Maternity Review & Discount

I love wearing maternity tops that show off that bump as soon as it is visible. This photo was taken when I was only 15 weeks along, we're at 20 this week! I really like the maternity tops at Pettel Maternity and was sent this Cap Top pictured above for review. I absolutely love how this shirt fits and accentuates the bump. I also like the cap sleeves, I'm not a fan of 't-shirt' length sleeves, these look much cuter and make it easier to dress up the shirt for a special occasion.

Would you believe it is also a nursing top? Perfect for after the baby, the ruching slightly hides the flip top nursing opening. They have a great selection of tops, pants, skirts, and dresses that are all thoughtfully designed. I admit they are a bit out of my price range, but you are getting a very high quality product and it can be worn beyond pregnancy.

PSG: Prenatal Cradle Review

There is one company that has been supporting bellies for a long long time, since 1987 to be exact. If your doctor recommended back support during pregnancy, it's very likely you've come across Prenatal Cradle. I had the opportunity to review the Mini Cradle and the Best Cradle. These are two great products that are indispensable, especially during the last trimester.

I like the Mini Cradle (pictured below) because even now at 20 weeks I can wear it to relieve sciatic nerve pain in my back/legs. It is great under clothing since it is rather discreet. I have the size small, although petite would probably work better for me (I'm only 100 pounds). The only thing I do not like is that it isn't very adjustable. There are only three settings of hook and loop closures, which can either leave you with something that's too tight or too loose. The same applies to the Best Cradle. For a product that's been around for so long I would expect some improvements for something as fundamental as adjustable fit. Nevertheless, it is one of the best and most affordable available - you just need to try it on to see if it fits.

The Best Cradle (below) provides even more support and is great during the last trimester, especially helpful if you are pregnant with multiples. It is rather easy to put on, don't let the look intimidate you. Though being pregnant through the summer, I have very few shirts that would cover the V-neck straps of the Best Cradle. In the fall and winter it wouldn't be much of a problem.

PSG: Mothers en Vogue Maternity Dress Review

When I started my quest for Pregnancy Shopping Guide sponsors I realized how few options there are for Eco-friendly and natural maternity clothing. I branched out to include more brands, but of course I was most attracted to things that align with the philosophy of this blog. I was really excited to work with Mothers en Vogue, an Eco-friendly maternity boutique based in Singapore. Their clothing is available in the U.S. through a few online boutiques.

I was sent the bamboo Lola Mae Dress for review. I was dreaming of it in the teal color (above), which is gorgeous (and I wanted to wear it to a wedding), but only black was available at the time. I don't wear black, I just don't. I think it is depressing (not to mention my husband does not like it). But, I guess that'll be my first black dress. I have to figure out a way for it not to look so... black. But the style itself is beautiful, it fits so perfectly, it is extremely comfortable, made with fabric grown without pesticides, it is something I could wear all day. A huge plus that it functions as a nursing dress!

The selection at Mothers en Vogue is mouthwatering. I love how all the styles look great no matter if you are pregnant or not, the versatile pieces can be worn before and beyond pregnancy. I secretly wish my whole maternity wardrobe was made up of just Mothers en Vogue pieces! Just take a look:

PSG: Hot Milk Lingerie Review

No, that is not a photo of me wearing lingerie and no, I'm not that far along! We'll be 20 weeks this week, half way there. At this point a comfy bra is a must, and one that doubles for nursing when the baby arrives is smart to have. Can a woman have too many bras? It is something we wear everyday, obviously it goes through a lot of wear and tear, especially when nursing. Of course, this was packed in our Babymoon bag at Harding House. Though my husband could care less what lingerie I wear, I did receive some compliments... The bra feels like it is too beautiful for every day, but I do not let that stop me. It has no padding, so with certain body hugging tops it doesn't really look good on tiny me - other than that it is my favorite bra that I own at the moment. Matching knickers, cute or what?! They fit well right under the belly and feel fabulous.
