Grassfields Organic Cheese Review {Giveaway Soon}

Our family is comprised of cheese addicts. We love good cheese and frown upon the fake stuff like big brand singles with a list of unpronounceable ingredients and string cheese. You will not see us shopping that isle. Instead we've found that buying high quality grass-fed cheeses is not only satisfying to the taste buds, but the body can tell the difference - and you're getting more nutrition for your money.

It's great if you can find real grass fed cheese locally from a nearby farmer, but you can also find it online. One place you should definitely consider taking a look at is Grassfields Organic Cheeses, a fifth generation family owned and operated farm based in Michigan. If you live in the area, you can buy directly from the farm and they have everything from meat, cheese, to poultry and eggs. Online you can buy their grass fed cheese and have it delivered to your door.

We had the opportunity to taste their Organic Fait Gras ($12.65/lb), created to age extensive amount of cream. It's a delicious snack on it's own, yummy with a slice of sprouted bread, great topping for scrambled eggs in the morning, or a midnight snack with some fruit. The Fait Gras is a very smooth melt-in-your-mouth consistency, slightly tangy, sharp, grassy. Something any cheese lover will appreciate. They also have some other delightful varieties such as the Organic Country Dill  Gouda, Organic Edam, and Organic Garlic 'n Onion Gouda Cheese. Am I making you drool yet?

If you know a cheese lover, Grassfields has the perfect gift for a special occasion - the Cheese of the Month Club! They have 3, 6, and 12 month memberships available for either pick up at the farm or shipped directly to the recipient. Each month a pound of special cheese will be delivered such as the Fait Gras that we received, or some Lamont Cheddar, Gouda, or Polkton Corners.

One of you will win a pound of Grassfields Fait Gras Cheese in the GMO Free 2013 Giveaway Event that launches tonight (1/20/13)!

  6. Thank you for the review, but I'am curious if you found any of it near buy. I'm skeptical when it comes to food shipping. I mean it's definitely better then going to your supermarket and buying shipped cheese with unpronounceable ingredients, but I would rather go and buy direct. Any places that you have discovered local?

    1. It's perfectly fine shipping, especially in this weather! It arrived with an ice pack, in a thermal bag, very well packaged. I'll send you a message with some places local to us! :)
