Chewbeads Teething Jewelry Review & Rafflecopter Giveaway

With baby E it seemed like she was teething forever, from about four months old until she was over twenty months. That's a long time! I wish I had some teething jewelry for her to gnaw on back then. Not only is it a great distraction at checkout, while you're on the phone, or trying to cook with the baby in a carrier - it's safer than having the baby play with your jewelry. I stopped wearing my necklaces for a little while because she wouldn't stop fiddling with them in her mouth. A lot of the cheap jewelry contains lead and other toxins. So how do you avoid that? Chewbeads has a solutions, they create necklaces and bracelets that are made of 100% silicone that's baby safe and contains no heavy metals.

We were sent the gorgeous Deep Sea Blue Jane Necklace and the Turquoise Cornelia Bracelet for review. I love the chunky beads and I can imagine how much a teething baby will love them! The necklace is great for wearing while nursing to keep the baby focused and the bracelet can serve as a reminder for which side you last nursed on. The necklaces have a breakaway clasp for safety. It is very easy to clean with soap and water and the silicone rubber is a very stable material that will not deteriorate, tear, or support the growth of fungus, mold, or bacteria. It is tested by an independent testing lab and contains no BPA, PVC, phthlates,  cadmium, or lead. This necklace pictured below is priced at $29.50 and the bracelet is $11.50.

The only two things I didn't like about this set is the fact it is made in China and that it had the new silicone smell when it arrived. Products that have an unpleasant smell are a pet peeve of mine. The smell is almost gone though. Still, this isn't the cheap China made necklace you may have in your jewelry box that likely contains lead, cadmium, and heavy metals. This is made to very different and high standards. This is not a toy, it is adult jewelry - but I definitely feel safer letting my toddler use these for dress up play rather than any of the unsafe necklaces I have (several of which she has already broken under my supervision!).

One of you will win a Chewbeads necklace and bracelet set for your little munchkin to chew on!

  3. Honestly, the only thing I don't like is that voting for your blog on various websites is am entry method into your giveaways. It's just a personal preference of mine to not participate in voting if there is a reward of any sort involved. It seems a little dishonest to me. I know a lot of people probably disagree with me because it's an "easy entry", and it certainly does not bother me enough to keep me away from your blog, but since you asked ;) Other than that, I love your blog. I love the products you review and giveaway, and I love the blogs lately about pregnancy and the concerns with prenatal test, chemicals, etc. (Since I'm about 31 weeks pregnant myself this is great info!) Keep up the great work!

  7. I agree with what Holly is saying about voting as an entry, it is sort of cheating. However, everybody does it so it's not like you're the only one! I like your blog.

  8. love the blog - great content! the one thing i would work on though is streamlining the look of the site a bit to make it easier to find things and just give it a cleaner appearance in general.

  13. I love your blog. I can't say there is anything I don't like about it. I wouldn't mind if there were less ways to enter each giveaway. One or two ways seems sufficient.
