As much as I was looking forward to vacation, I was a little concerned about getting too much sun, especially for my toddler. While a safe dose of vitamin D is what makes us so much healthier in the summer, nobody needs a sunburn. I am very happy to work with Coolies on a review of their Short Sleeve Rash Guard Set. We were sent the Turquoise Daisy print to try on our two and a half year old (pictured above).
My toddler is on the small side, she is only 25 pounds right now. I ordered the size 2 knowing that it would fit because she still wears some 18 months size clothing. It turned out to be quite generously sized, perfect for a typical two year old and a tad large on my girl. The bonus is that it will still fit next year! Priced at $34 it is fairly reasonable, especially if it will fit for two seasons or if you spend a lot of time outdoors with the kids.
I absolutely love this print! When I was looking for toddler size sun protective clothing, it seemed everything was either pink or a boyish blue. I love blue, but not the royal blue (that attracts the heat of the sun), and by no means with cars or airplanes on it. This one is perfect, a light color that she doesn't get hot in, blue but girly.
This rash guard was excellent for being in the sun for more than half an hour. I applied sunscreen (the Kid Safe Screen from MVO) to her lower arms and legs, that was so much easier than slathering it on an entire toddler who just wants to run away and jump in the water! She didn't even seem to notice she was wearing it and I was happy she didn't burn. I would highly recommend Coolies for your infants, toddlers, and older kids. They even have you and your husband covered with short and long sleeve rash guards.
