Tommee Tippee Sippy Cup Review

This review of Tommee Tippee for the Mom Bloggers Club should give you a good idea of whether this is the right product for your baby. I will be brutally honest in my review. That is what all of you moms want, right?

Now don't get me wrong, Tommee Tippee performed better that the average sippy cup in my opinion. That alone makes it worth a try. Like it or not, as a mom you'll probably go through at least five sippy cups anyway! So here is what we think:
  • I understand the spout is supposed to make the transition from bottle to sippy easier, but it is not cleaning friendly. Even unfiltered organic apple juice might give you trouble with it, so stick to water and the clearest of juices.
  • Leakproof? My baby is the ultimate test. She left the sippy upside down on our wool rug. Big puddle, all the water came out before I realized she left it there. Perhaps I did not assemble it right? Maybe. I guess it is just something you have to try yourself. It was great for the first few days, had no leaks even when I was shaking it upside down vigorously!
  • Cute design, I like the gender neutral ones. Never cared much for pink.
  • It is BPA free. I do not know what replaces BPA though. I advise you not to leave liquids in it for more than a couple of hours. When I tried that with water and then tasted it, it had a plastic taste. Not sure what plastic tastes like, but it just wasn't good. Is chemically a word? It is fine though if you intend to pour something in and give it to your baby to drink right away.
  • Not ready for a sippy yet? You should really check out their bottle, I was very impressed with the nipple design, so realistic! :)
Want to know more about the sippy? Here are some facts:
  • BPA- and Phthalate-free
  • Patented advance-flo valve for guaranteed easy drinking
  • Super-sensitive Active Sensor valve is truly spill-proof and leakproof, yet allows liquid to flow on demand
  • Easy for little hands to hold
  • Soft spout to protect child’s gums and mouth
  • Dishwasher safe
  • $4.99 for 9 oz cup
